REPEAL INDIANA
HOUSE BILL 1053
The Plastic Reduction Alliance’s encourages Indiana communities and individuals to talk with their elected officials to overturn laws that disable local governments from banning single use plastic.
Indiana’s law, H.B.1053, went into effect in 2016 and continues to support plastics over people. The Plastic Reduction Alliance supports legally binding initiatives that ban single use plastics, beginning with the repeal of H.B.1053 in Indiana. Studies show that single use plastic bans are successful for reducing plastic pollution.
SAY “NO THANK YOU”
TO PLASTIC BAGS
Every year, billions of plastic bags are used for just minutes but linger in the environment for decades, polluting waterways, harming wildlife, and contributing to growing waste problems.
By switching to reusable bags, saying no to plastic at checkout, and encouraging others to do the same, we can significantly reduce our impact. Small, everyday choices can lead to lasting change.
COLLECT, ANALYZE,
AND QUANTIFY
Join us for a day of science and service along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Gary. Together, we’ll collect, analyze, and quantify plastic pollution at Marquette Beach while helping restore and care for this vital ecosystem.
This three-year initiative is designed to deepen our understanding of plastic waste and its impacts—while actively stewarding and revitalizing the Marquette Beach pathways for the community.
